Exome Sequencing Course
Showing healthcare interpreters what to expect during genetic counseling
Project Background
Genetic testing, including whole-exome sequencing, is becoming more widely used in clinical medicine. A research team asked us to help them teach healthcare interpreters some of the concepts and terms they should be familiar with to assist patients who do not speak English.
Client: Cancer Health Assessments Reaching Many (CHARM) Study
Our Work
We developed a story and characters for a course on exome sequencing for healthcare interpreters. In collaboration with the subject matter experts and the content instruction team, we produced visual content that explained key terms related to genetics, hereditary risk, and test results.
